On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law The Recovery Act, which provides the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) with funding for grants to assist state, local, and tribal law enforcement in supporting a broad range of activities to improve the criminal justice system. Currently, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking applications for grant funding under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG).
